Our Story: Atmosphere and Alchemy

At Crown & Root Botanica, we believe a scent should be more than just a fragrance—it should be a study in ambiance.

Founded in our Midwest studio, our work was created over years of reverence for the careful craftsmanship of candle making. Drawing inspiration from the botanical world and the vintage apothecary archives, untamed gardens, and the hushed sanctity of a Victorian library, we set out to craft candles that completely transform a space the moment the match is struck.

The Artifact

A candle should look as striking unlit as it does while burning. We designed our vessels to be heavy tactile artifacts that feel luxurious and are striking, designed to stand out in any sovereign space.

Poured into substantial matte black ceramics and capped with natural bamboo, each candle is finished with minimalist gold foil typography. At the center, a perfectly sized wood wick provides a wide, teardrop flame and a gentle, fireplace-like crackle. They are designed to sit beautifully on a crowded bookshelf, a bedside table, your cozy living room table space, or a dimly lit desk—a small piece of alchemy for your home.
